La Finestra Restaurant

Chi Siamo

A native of Los Angeles (Greg actually grew up in a home less than a mile from La Finestra); Greg has been working in retail and restaurants for most of his adult life. After graduating from Taft High School in Woodland Hills a long time ago, Greg’s first job out of High School was head of the fountain and kitchen at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor on Canoga Avenue in Woodland Hills.

After a stint working the line in the cafeteria at the main lodge in Mammoth, California, Greg spent the next few years working in film processing (installing and servicing one hour photo equipment), and in 1985 became manager of La Frite restaurant in Woodland Hills, and also managed L’Express in Sherman Oaks. In 1990, Greg opened Pacific’s Seafood in the Beverly Center as General Manager, and also managed at Champagne and then at Lunaria in West LA.

Following his marriage in 1990, Greg decided to move away from working seven nights a week in the restaurant business, and proceeded to work as a manager of both The Sharper Image and then Costco Wholesale. Finally pursuing his dream of someday again with food, in 2003 Greg slowly segued into a career as a food stylist, working in television (on shows such as House MD, Arrested Development and Criminal Mind) and in print (for numerous local and national restaurants, and McDonald’s). Finally in late 2006, Greg finalized the purchase of La Finestra. He plans to own at least 3 more restaurants in the next few years.

Greg lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
